Jarbola

(Jarbola)
White wine

Jarbola is an autochthonous Croatian sort that has fallen into decay. The DNA analysis has shown, that this sort is unique and we are lucky, that it was identified in the old vineyards on the slopes of Ćićarija. From the twenty grapevines that were found a planting material was made and we do hope, that it will be spread all over Istria and Croatia.

In the year 2003 hundred liter of this wine had been produced. It has proven to be very aromatic, but also to have a high percentage of acids. Although the year 2003 was extremely propitious for wine, we will ascribe the high percentage of acids to the excessive fruitfulness (20 kg per grapevine) and predict a bright future for this wine.

If you ever get the chance to try this wine, be sure to seize it!
