Debit

Debit is a white sort that ripens very late. It is mostly grown in south and Middle Dalmatia, as well as in the Croatian inland. The berries are of medium size and the wine grapes are golden-yellow, middle sized or even big.

Although it is considered to be an autochthonous sort, the old name (Puljižinac) suggests an Italian origin.

Debit is mainly dry, fresh wine of lighter yellow color, slightly sour and with a full aroma. In the past this wine was let to lay in the pomace (solid residue), because this way it got the dark yellow color. It has from 11 to 13% alcohol.
