Red wine
This extraordinary old sort, known also as Carignan Noir, occupies 245 000 Hectares of all vineyards and takes the 4th place in the world. Among the red sorts it takes the 2nd place, right after Grenache Noir.
It got its name from the Spanish town Carinene, where it probably originates from. It spread over Europe during the 12th century.
