Cabernet ruby

(Cabernet ruby)
Red wine

Cabernet Ruby is a red sort, which came into existence in 1936 thanks Dr. Harold Olm from Davis in California. He crossed the already known sorts; Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan in order to create a vine resistant to high temperatures like Carignan, and of high quality like Cabernet Sauvignon.

This sort gives ruby colored wine, with a pleasant sour cherry aroma, but it still hasn´t proven itself as capable of giving high quality wine. Regardless of that, this sort is very popular among the winemakers, because of its resistance to strong winds and high temperatures. This vine thrives where others can´t.

Cabernet Ruby is grown in California, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, and Australia.
