Blauburger

(Blauburger)
Red wine

Blauburger is a cross between the Portuguese and Frankovka, which came into existence in 1923 in Austria, as a product made by Professor Fritz Zweigelt (sounds familiar?).

The color is dark red, the aroma very distinct and the body is full. The aroma is actually resembling Frankovka, but more distinct, and also has more alcohol. This wine has a strong character.

It´s color is so intense, that it´s often used with other sorts, as a color enhancer.

The wine of this sort has a long aging period.
