Žilavka is an autochthonous grape sort of Herzegovina. It has a very rich growth and good, regular yield. It is harvested in mid-season, because it ripens at the end of September. The berries weigh from 150 to 200 Gramm. The height of the vine can be low, middle, or tall. It grows very well on karst and shallow grounds and tolerates drought. The average of sugar in the must varies from 20 to 24 %, and the tartaric acids of the must amounts 5-8 G/L. This wine is of excellent quality and has a characteristic smell.

It is harmonious, drinkable and flaunty, of yellow-green color. This wine reaches 12-13% alcohol. Žilavka can boast with crystal clear clarity and is served at 12 C°.
