Verduzzo

This white sort has a very long history, and what is a rarity- it is documented. Today this wine is grown on the area of Venice and Dalmatia. There are a lot of varieties of its name like Verduzzo Friulano (Ramandolo, Verdana Friulana, Verduzzo Giallo, Verduz, Verduzzo Verde) and Verduzzo Trevigiano (Verduzzo di Motta, Verduzzo Verde).

Dry and sweet wines are made from this sort, and it is often used as one of the components of table wines.

Whereas the dry variety of this sort can be pretty sour, the sweet one has a golden color and tastes like honey, tropical fruits and almond. Sweet wine is made from the late harvest by drying the berries before squeezing them.
