Scheurebe
(Scheurebe, Sämling 88)
White wine
Scheurebe is a white German grape sort, a cross between Sylvaner and Riesling.
The wine is aromatic, with nice fruity aromas, especially blackberries. It is sweeter and has less acid than Riesling. In order to get quality wine, the grapes of this sort have to be fully ripe. It is subject to Botrytis, and under the influence of this noble rot one can make excellent dessert wines.
